Some Pigeon - Some Egg!

As the Israeli Coronavirus infection and death rates reduce to a trickle and recoveries increase every day, politicians and diplomats are now in a tailspin over the sudden death of China's new envoy to Israel aged only 57.

Du Wei, who presented his credentials in February, is being said to have died of 'natural causes'. Some sources say he suffered a heart attack.

Meanwhile, Israel's close ties with both the United States and China make it the increasingly tested middleman as hostilities between the two major powers worsen daily.

More happily, Israel's education system is opening fully this week while beaches may be used officially from Wednesday.

At time of writing, potential tourists should note that entry to Israel is still restricted to   Israeli passport holders, residence visa holders and passengers with specific entry approval. Further, the 14 day quarantine rule still applies to anyone returning from abroad.

The Times of Israel's own Coronavirus daily update today reports 16,608 cases, 268 deaths, 12,855 recoveries and 49 patients still on ventilators.

And the pigeon's egg? We guess that an anxious feathered mum-in-waiting left it on the external sill of our safe room, trusting that we abide solemnly to the strictest rules of social distancing and leave it there until she returns to help it hatch. What do YOU think?
